Piccadilly Circus, 1980. Impromptu gig/music buskers on steps of Piccadilly Circus roundabout in it's original. location before it was moved a couple of years later. At junction of Regent Street, Piccadilly, Shaftesbury Avenue, The Haymarket, Coventry Street and Glasshouse Street in London's West End - City of Westminster, Greater London, W1J 9HT

The steps surrounding the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, beneath the statue of Anteros (popularly known as Eros), Piccadilly often became a focal point for impromptu musical sessions. London, UK. These images were made one Saturday afternoon in 1980.

The plinth, fountain and statue were moved to a new location in 1985.

1) Photographs show buskers singing and playing a guitar surrounded by groups of young people sitting or standing around. In the background can be seen a red London bus and the London Pavilion theatre showing the Great Rock n’ Roll Swindle mockumentary film.

2) Photographs show members of Risca Male Choir (Welsh male voice choir based in Risca, South Wales) performing an impromptu gig.

May 29, 1977. Fire sweeps through the iconic Victorian era Esplanade Hotel on the seafront at Penarth.

A large crowd gathered to watch the work of Penarth and Cardiff City fire fighters. South Glamorgan Fire Brigade, South Wales, United Kingdom. (Now amalgamated as South Wales Fire and Rescue Service)

The Penarth Times has an article regarding this incident on their website. (Link still active May, 2025).

The site was later redeveloped to accommodate modern apartments after remaining empty for a few years.
