Community social protest referencing the plan/application by Frensham School in Mittagong NSW to cut down 249 trees in a area they declared as “Land for Wildlife” in 2015 in order to build a number of “Eco cabins”.
The multi million dollar development project involves clearing 4.2 hectares in an ecological endangered forest in order to provide the pupils with an opportunity to study nature.
The Mittagong community, Frensham alumni and conservation groups have expressed significant concern over the proposed development.
Leading environment experts and leaders in the Southern Highlands are calling on the Frensham Board of Governors to abandon its DA for bush cabins in the critically endangered community in the Lower Holt. Additionally, representatives of:
signed an open letter addressed to the Frensham Board of Governors.

The annual Wollongong May Day march was combined with an anti-AUKUS rally in Port Kembla. The Wollongong community has marked May Day, or International Labour Day, since 1912. The weekend long Robertson Potato Festival was held in Robertson, NSW, an area known for it’s outstanding potato farms. A chance for the local community to celebrate this humble, but socio-economic important vegetable.
