May 29, 1977. Fire sweeps through the iconic Victorian era Esplanade Hotel on the seafront at Penarth.

A large crowd gathered to watch the work of Penarth and Cardiff City fire fighters. South Glamorgan Fire Brigade, South Wales, United Kingdom.

After remaining empty for a few years the site was redeveloped as apartment blocks .

Port Talbot Steelworks, South Wales, UK

In 2024 it was announced that the site was being closed down and the likelihood of significant job losses for the local community.
