Daylilies, scientifically known as Hemerocallis, are perennial flowering plants that belong to the family Asphodelaceae (formerly part of the Liliaceae family).

They are native to Asia, primarily China, Korea, and Japan, but they have been widely cultivated and naturalised in many parts of the world due to their ornamental value and ease of cultivation.
